🚗 Car Rental

  • Compare local pickup locations instead of the airport.

  • I rented from Enterprise in Maple Ridge.

  • Book through your credit card and get 2X rewards,

  • Join Enterprise Plus and get 5% off in member savings.

  • Check your credit-card rental rewards. I use Amex Cobalt for 2X rewards

🍴 Food Stops

  • Prince George: Jacks Coffee, Clay Oven Grill

  • Smithers: RoadHouse, Tandoori Bistro, Smithers Brewing Co., New Hazelton - Tasty Chinese Restaurant

  • Stewart:

🍕 Silverado Cafe & Pizza Parlour — my go-to for pizza

🥪 Stewart Smartmart — opens early and is great for sandwiches

⚠️ Stewart is remote, so plan your meals ahead. Restaurants may open later in the day and close by around 8 PM. Keeping groceries and snacks in your car is always a good backup.

  • Boya Lake: Once you leave Stewart, there are very few food options, so plan ahead and carry snacks/groceries. The Stewart–Cassiar Highway is very remote, with long stretches between services.

    • Tatogga Lake Resort - They have their own restaurant and thats the big one you can see along the way from Stewart to Boya Lake

    • Jade City - Free wifi and Free Coffee

  • Muncho Lake:

    • Double G Service - Have their own restaurant & no Wifi

    • Northern Rockies Lodge - Have their own restaurant, and you can buy wifi around 6 dollars

    • Toad River Lodge - Gift Shop & Restaurant with a view

  • Fort St. John: Broken Spanish Restaurant

🐎 Must-Do Activities

  • Horse trail riding: Mountain View Adventures — ~$65/hour

  • Boya Lake kayaking: ~$20 for 2 hours and the payment is honest box system just leave your payment in Cash

💡 Quick Tips

  • Book remote stays early.

  • Carry snacks.

  • Fill up on gas whenever you can.

  • Carry Cash.

Northern BC is remote, beautiful and all about journey. Plan smart and enjoy the ride. 🏔️🚗
